The OTSO UTSM was born from the idea of creating a balanced encounter between a natural environment of a very special value, such as that of the Serra de Montsant Natural Park; the people who inhabit the villages integrated in the territory and the athletes who, with their strong sports and human commitment, will be the ones who will trace the route that unites them…

…The competition reaches its fifteenth edition, after being released in 2009 and having increased year after year the number of participants.
The OTSO UTSM is a walking race, affordable, despite its 63km and 3.470m of positive slope, with the intention of offering you the experience of running in total freedom and semi-autonomy in a framework of hermitic tradition, which served as an isolated place of world to ascetics and anacoretas who voluntarily sought the return to austerity, simplification and contemplation in silence in a perfect environment for it as is the Montsant (hence its name Monte Santo). Apart from the queen test, there are three more races so are the 25km-11km-7km trails, which will be run on Sunday. There is also the possibility of running the race in two stages, joining the Ultra 63k on Saturday and the 25k trail on Sunday, and thus adding one more ITRA point. And this edition we maintain the distance of Marathon-MSM 44km, scoring 2 ITRA points and qualifying for UTMB 50k.
ITRA POINTS: The UTSM is a qualifying race for the Ultra Trail du Montblanc. The queen test (63km) gives 3 points in the ranking. And we maintain the TSM25k with 1 point in the new ranking. There is also the possibility of running the test in two stages, joining the Ultra 63k on Saturday with the 25k trail on Sunday, and thus add one more ITRA point. And we mantain in this edition, the Marathon-MSM distance 44km, scoring 2 ITRA points and qualifying for UTMB 50k.
NOTE: The Ultra Trail distance of 63km will be run on Saturday November 9th, as well as the Marathon-MSM distance, while the short distances of 25k, 11k and 7k have been placed to Sunday November 10th in the morning.

*IMPORTANT NOTE: For the 2023 edition, none of the areas destined to the refreshment posts are expected to be in closed spaces. All are open air areas, where it will not be possible to take shelter from the weather. It is advisable to have warm material (lightweight feathers jaquet) to keep the body warm while standing.
The energy and beverage brand APTONIA and the DECATHLON store will allow us to find Isotonic drinks to consume on-site at the following points:

External assistance
It is forbidden to receive external aid or to be accompanied by other people that are not racers registered in the race. External assistance is ONLY permitted in the LIGHT and COMPLETE provisioning posts areas only for 1 person (Margalef + La Morera de Montsant + Albarca + Santa Magdalena Ermitage). Outside these areas, external help or assistance is forbidden.
Racers are responsible for their own food or hydration during the race. It is advisable a minimum of calories at the beginning of the race ensure a semi-autonomous participation in the race.
At the finishing line, there will be an AV2 provisioning post.

There will be not plastic glasses throughout the race. You must to have a reusable glass on the race. If you want. the organization will sell you a special glass to be used throughout the race. Liquid provisioning posta will only have water. At the light and complete provisioning posts there will be other drinks, but they can only be drunk in situ. Cans or other racers’ drink containers can only be filled with water.

-CANCELLATIONS: If you are registered and want to make a CANCELLATION, it is processed by sending an email to [email protected] (you have to put: name, surname, ID, phone number, email, reason and proof, payment method, the day you made registration and an account number where to return the money).
-ACTIVITY CANCELLATION POLICY: We understand that sometimes plans change. Once the registration is made, a penalty will be applied for changes or cancellation equivalent to 50% of the price of the same and up to one week before the event (with proof). From this moment there will be no economic return for cancellation.
